that's sweet. I love that song. I don't really have a song like that with an ex, but the song "Best Days" by Graham Colton always takes me back to the last weekend of college.
And the song "Life is a Highway" takes me back to the summer of 07...I always stop when I hear it, and if I close my eyes, I forget that i'm not on the porch, cup in hand, laughing with my roommates.

Girl's last blog post..Sunday Smiles

Regina Spektor's "On the Radio." It reminds me of my time and Italy, then the fall following that, including a nasty breakup. The words took on a new meaning after that.

And it makes me sad that my boy and I don't really have a song. We danced together the first night we hung out, but I have NO idea what it was to. And I wish I could remember.

This is such a great story!! I love how songs can create very vivid memories and play such an important roles in everyone's lives.

I have so many songs that are woven into certain milestones, holidays and ordinary moments.

"I'll Back You Up", from DMB's 7/12/00 show at Giant's Stadium. They hadn't played it in concert in forever. I took a girl I was seeing to the show, and it pretty much typified our relationship. Ahh..young love, lol.

I decided that my song with Eddie is "My Life Would Suck Without You" by Kelly Clarkson, for no other reason than the fact that it describes out breakup-get-back-together so well, and that was so pivotal in giving us a great relationship now. It's his ringtone :)

Kenny Chesney's "I Go Back" stops me in my tracks, though - how could it not? You listen to country, you know what I mean!
